About
I’m Dr. Christoph Pfeiffer. This is my personal notebook on applied quantitative methods — econometrics, data science and game theory, worked through in R and Python with a bias toward reproducible, honest analysis.
The through-line is simple: take a real method, apply it to real data, and show every step.
Professionally
I founded competitio, where I apply game theory to purchasing and strategic negotiation — designing award mechanisms and auctions, setting incentives, and working out where a negotiation is decided long before anyone sits down at the table.
I wrote a book on it, published by Springer in both languages:
- Game Theory — Successful Negotiation in Purchasing: Requirements, Incentives and Award (Springer, 2023)
- Spieltheorie — Erfolgreich verhandeln im Einkauf: Voraussetzungen, Anreize und Vergaben (Springer Gabler, 2021)
The posts here and that work share a root: most of the value sits in setting the problem up correctly, not in the computation.
